Review of Animal Studies

چکیده
In the last twenty years, hundreds of experiments have been carried out on animals to assess cancer-related risks of exposure to extremely-low-frequency (ELF) and radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields. Most of the work has been performed at frequencies related to the generation of electricity at 50/60Hz and mobile telephony at around 1 GHz. Results obtained on cancer-related models are described in this brief review in terms of the risk evaluation that is necessary for the establishment of exposure guidelines and standards. Overall, it remains true that there are no known welldocumented effects leading to health risks for weak induced currents at ELF and “non-thermal” RF fields levels.

Genome Wide Association Studies, Next Generation Sequencing and Their Application in Animal Breeding and Genetics: A Review
Recently genetic studies have been revolutionized by next generation sequencing (NGS) technology, and it is expected that the use of this technology will largely eliminate defects in the methods of association studies. The NGS technology is becoming the premier tool in genetics. However, at the moment the use of this method is limited especially in the livestock due to high cost and computation...
متن کاملReview on Properties of Selenium in Animal Nutrition
The early interest in selenium (Se) focused on its toxicity, but since 1957 it has been recognized as an essential dietary element. The diet is the major Se source and approximately 80% of dietary Se is absorbed, depending on the type of food consumed. In several regions of the world, the content of Se in diets has been estimated as insufficient. The dietary requirement for Se for most species ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Fennel and Black Seed, on Breast milk, Prolactin Levels and Anthropometric Index in Human and Animal Samples: A Review
Background: Breastfeeding is the best food for infants. Prolactin is combined with the corresponding receptors on the alveoli that produce milk, and milk production begins. We aimed to review the effect of fennel and black seed on breast milk, prolactin levels and anthropometric index in human and animal samples. ...
متن کاملRetinoic Acid Determines the Fate of Spermatogonia
In this review, we aim to examine the effect of extrinsic and intrinsic factors on spermatogenesis process taking into account a complex signaling pathway. Primarily, it is suggested that retinoic acid (RA) has a vital function in spermatogenesis process and it is considered to be essential for completion of spermatogonia into mature spermatozoa. In the present review, the key effects of retino...
متن کاملTrend of toxocariasis in Iran: a review on human and animal dimensions
One of the neglected soil and/or food-borne diseases with international public health importance is toxocariasis. Human cases are being increasingly reported from Asian, African, Oceania, European and the American countries. Hence, human toxocariasis (HT) is now considered as a major zoonosis with global and regional importance. In Iran, human and animal toxocariasis is an endemic disease with ...
متن کاملO 9: Immunomodulatory Effects of Neural Stem Cell on Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review
Multiple sclerosis (MS) and its animal model, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), are chronic inflammatory demyelinating disorders of central nervous system (CNS). While the cause is unclear, the fundamental mechanism is thought to be destruction of myelin sheaths of neurons through immune system. One of the approaches being proposed in EAE therapy is neural stem cells (NSCs) trans...
